2025 First Friday Concert Series

The First Friday Concert Series takes place on the first Friday of the month in Downtown Kennesaw. Celebrating its fifth year in 2025, the concert series invites visitors to Downtown Kennesaw’s Main Street Plaza for live music, tasty local brews, and delicious food options every first Friday from April through October, excluding July.

Each monthly concert runs from 7 to 9 pm, providing an ideal way to unwind, socialize, and begin the weekend in Kennesaw’s inviting downtown area. With Main Street Plaza providing the backdrop, attendees will enjoy an evening filled with entertainment and relaxation right in the center of town.

The event is hosted by the Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority and the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association.

April 4, 2025 – Alex Cavanaugh
Singer-songwriter Alex Cavanaugh blends country storytelling with an urban rock edge. Classically trained in piano from a young age, the New York native picked up the guitar at 14 and began writing songs at 16. Influenced by artists such as Black Stone Cherry, the Foo Fighters and Eric Church, Cavanaugh recently released his debut album, Rise Above.
May 2, 2025 – Rich Brock (Comedian)
Known for his clean, high-energy comedy, Rich Brock—also known as “Big Rich”—brings humor rooted in storytelling and life experience. A former pastor from small-town Georgia, Brock shares witty takes on marriage, parenting, career changes and dating in his 50s, all delivered with warmth and laughter.
June 6, 2025 – Layne Denton
North Georgia singer-songwriter Layne Denton delivers a soulful mix of blues and folk, showcasing a distinctive voice and a talent for heartfelt songwriting. His performances blend smooth melodies with a rich acoustic sound.
August 1, 2025 – 96K
96K is known for their energetic performances that blend pop, rock and soul. With a lineup of talented musicians and vocalists, the band creates a dynamic and engaging atmosphere, providing an unforgettable live music experience.
September 5, 2025 – Groove Daddies
Fusing blues, rock and classic hits, the Groove Daddies bring a dynamic energy to every performance. Led by vocalist Chris Wiggins and featuring guitarist Matt Alexander, their setlist includes favorites from Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Stray Cats and Eric Clapton.
October 3, 2025 – G Clef and the Playlist
From Motown to modern hits, G Clef and the Playlist deliver a diverse mix of pop, rock, R&B and hip-hop. Their energetic performances feature everything from Prince and Earth, Wind & Fire to Hall & Oates and Metallica, promising a night of non-stop entertainment.
