The YWCA of Northwest Georgia will host the Third Annual Youth Track or Treat Run on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Swift Cantrell Park in Kennesaw. The family friendly event is open to the entire community. Proceeds from the event will benefit the YWCA of Northwest Georgia’s Sheltering Hands Domestic Violence Shelter…the only domestic violence shelter in Cobb County. The event is endorsed by Fit City Kids and the City of Kennesaw. There will be a special Girl Scout patch offered to participants. Chairing this year’s event are Cris Eaton-Welsh and John Loud. Honorary Co-Chairs are Mayor Mark Mathews and his daughter, Emily.
Entry fees for the Track or Treat are $15 per person (Race Day $20). Register online at www.trackortreat.com. Online registration closes on Thursday, October 23rd at midnight.
This year’s Track or Treat Run features races by age group for kids ages 4 to 100. The races will be as follows:
4 to 6 – ¼ mile
7 to 9 – ½ mile
10 to 12 – 1 mile
13 to 14 – 1 mile
Adult Sprint – ¼ mile Adults can join us for a ¼ mile run to show the kids that you care too! If you like, you may wear a skirt to honor those we serve or wear a Halloween costume!
In addition, families may enjoy other activities such as t-shirt decorating, face painting and inflatables. The race starts promptly at 2:30 PM, with race day check in and registration beginning at 1:45 PM. Trick or Treating fun will follow the race. Costumes are encouraged, but optional.
